The MC Singers are back!
After eighteen months of no singing live, no events and struggling with the infamous Zoom, your local community choir are back together. We have lots of news.
Firstly we have said 'Farewell' to our founding Musical Director, Sue Wightman, who has moved to pastures new in Suffolk. The choir held a big send off rehearsal in June, which was highlighted by the excitement of the fire engines, police and ambulance surrounding The New Inn. It was definitely a memorable 'Goodbye'. The choir gave Sue a large bundle of garden vouchers, which she has used to create the MC Singers Garden at her new house.
We welcome our new Musical Director, Brackley-based, Rey Lear. Rey comes to the choir with a wide variety of music experiences from his career working with schoolchildren and a love of singing, including his amazing instrumental skills on numerous instruments. Rey has arrived at an exciting time for the group, when they continue to develop new repertoire and again perform to all of the lovely friends, families and supporters.
As the pandemic started and we went into Lockdown in March 2020, we were rehearsing "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", which we were due to perform in the April. Needless to say this was cancelled, BUT we are pleased to announce that it is happening next month. The MC Singers will perform this popular Musical of Andrew Lloyd-Weber over two days - Friday 8th October 7.30 p.m. and Saturday 9th October 2.30 p.m. in All Saints Church, Middleton Cheney. We hope all our existing audience will be there and lots of newcomers. Sue will be returning to conduct as her final concert with the MC Singers
