Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
The Singers are rehearsing for one of our most exciting performances to date. We are going to thrill audiences with our concert version of the much-loved musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. First performed in 1968, Joseph became the school music craze of the seventies. Most students had their fix of this music during their school days. I certainly had all of the pupils I taught singing the original version, which Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote especially for schools.
Joseph was soon to become a hit on Broadway and in the West End. Successive generations have sung along to the well known lyrics right up to the latest performances in 2019.
We are delighted that we can bring Joseph to our local community. Our accompanist Kieron Galliard has found us a very talented young singer from Banbury, who will be singing the lead character of Joseph, our own Heather Gledhill is the Narrator and the part of Pharoah will be played by another local favourite Mark Tuckey.
The performances are Friday 24th April at 7.30 p.m. and Saturday 25th April at 2.30 p.m. Tickets are £5.00 and can be obtained from members of the choir.
We are now beginning to get very excited. Come and be transported to the Land of Canaan.
