A Very Belated Happy New Year!

Well, this year has certainly set off at an alarmingly fast pace! Much in a similar vein to the way last year ended! The choir was tied up nearly every weekend in December with varying different performances, and some midweek ones too! To say we had a full programme was an understatement!

We had our annual Carol Concert at All Saint's Church, and we also had Carol singing at Cherwell Edge Golf Club, Canon's Ashby National Trust property, Butler's Pantry and Middleton Cheney Primary School to name but a few!

Canon's Ashby was a great place to go to, and a new one to add to the list. We've been invited back this year to perform traditional songs in-keeping with the theme of the house, so it will be good to revive some of the old traditional favourite folk songs.

The other big news we have for this year, following our January AGM, is that we now have a committee. It was generally considered due to the growing size of the choir that a committee would be a good idea, and so officers were voted in during the AGM, which will certainly lighten the load for Sue and myself! A definitely welcome helping hand!

We were very sad to see our very valued accompanist Darren Oliver leave for Cambridge, with our Christmas Concert possibly being his last with us...(unless we can beg him to come back and possibly go and collect him!)...it's been a privilege working with him, we are very grateful for all the concerts he has accompanied us for, and we will miss him greatly. This obviously leaves us with an empty accompanist seat, so if anyone knows anyone who might be able to fill this seat from time to time, please let us know!

So that about sums up the new for the end of the year/beginning of 2017. Here's hoping that you had an enjoyable festive season, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at a venue near you soon!
